Taller women get more girls?
|
|
I am sorry, but I am having an immensely bad day (have had since I recieved the infamous baby shower invitation). If you want to laugh at my post go ahead. It seems to me that taller women are more likely to get girls. My baby shower friend is 5'6". Myself and four other friends, and three at work, are all 5'4" or less and all have boys. My out of state college buddies who had girls are 5'10", 5'7" and 5'7". The lone woman at work who had a girl is about 5'8"-5'9". Then there are the celebrities: Nicole Kidman, Marcia Cross, Katie Holmes, Brooke Shields, Leilei sobieski, all tall, all had girls. I did not have enough confidence in Shettles to try that technique for a girl, but since I memorized that book I will cite one of his concepts,"girl sperm survives better when there is a long way to travel to the egg". Maybe those high-up uteri in longer bodies allow for the girl sperm to survive better. Maybe there is something to that concept after all. If you can refute me please do. I am probably being silly. There are days when I seriously feel like a holiday from my life would be a good thing.

I'm 5'9" and have 3 boys. I have several friends who are also my height and they ALL have at least one boy! Don't stress!
ETA & I do have a long cervix, this have been told by the tech who did my ultrasound with DS3.

I really wish this were true as I am 5'7" and I have a boy with number two on the way (we don't know the sex yet). My best friend is only 5'4" and has two girls. I think its just coincidence to be honest. Would work in my favour if it were true though hun! Lol.

it's a crap shoot. I'm 5'2 and have a girl, a boy on the way. A friend of mine is like 5'4 and has two girls. My mom is 5'2 and has two girls and one boy. My grandmother (father's side) is about 5'2 and had two of each. None of the women in my family are tall, neither are my friends so I can't really say anything about tall women.

I wanted to add also that my maternal grandma was 5'7" and had 2 girls and a boy. I fit into her (very fitted) vintage wedding gown before I had kids (haven't tried it on since) the only difference in our bodies was that 2 inches in height. 5'7" was tall for being born 90 something years ago.
My tiny maternal great grandmother had 13 kids and there were more boys than girls. But there were some girls.

My maternal grandmother was tall (about 5'9") and had GGBB. My short paternal grandmother (5') had BGB. My mom is pretty average at 5'5" and she had GBG. I am 5'6" and have BBBB. My sister is 5'2" and has GB. I think it's all pretty random.
My biggest question these days are antibodies. What if there is an antibody in my body that kills off girl sperm. My husband's doctor mentioned to him that one of her sisters had an antibody test and there was an actual problem, eventually she finally did get her daughter, but she had a lot of sons beforehand.

No, I am definitely tall. Expecting ds. Actually, if anything, I think it is the opposite.

I've heard underweight women in industrialized countries tend to have girls. My mom is 5'3" and she had 3 girls.
