Dr. Shettles died in 2003, and x and y sperm swim the same speed and live the same amount of time
|
|
What about the Diva vs Instead Cup? I thought Instead was closer to cervix to "encourage" the faster y sperm (sorry if you discussed this earlier...I saw a few posts saying the x/y sperm speed theory was dead but I did a search and couldn't find the explanation...is there a sperm/speed/life study?).
Thanks for asking that q on SU Blondie, I was wondering that myself!

the diva cup makes the sperm farther away from the cervix thus making them all swim through the low pH thus giving the x sperm and advantages... more time in low pH

Sorry Tamara, one more q (and then I'll let go...I promise!). What about the other sperm characteristics...was that disproven as well? Like that y sperm are smaller, more fragile, less resilient...

Sorry, for this dumb Q but if shettles x y sperm speed theory is wrong then why are we pin pointing O,is that because we are more alkaline close to O?

because the pH, ions, minerals, and hormones peak at O (sway boy)

The Anchor:y sperm are smaller
I thought that y sperm are slightly smaller than x. This basis is how microsort is able to sort the sperm how it does.

ms is based on dna. Y sperm have one or 2 less (sorry I can't remember) dna bits than an x sperm. MS lights up the dna and has a Lazar count them

Blondie1974:when you look at them under the microscope, the boys go in a straight line and the gals sorta go around in circles???
If you go directly to something/somewhere, and someone else is going in circles to get there, you're still getting there sooner, which makes you quicker, sort of, no?? .....Anyway, wouldn't it make life (swaying) sooo much easier though if X really did out-live Y

No because in cm flow x sperm swim zig zags and y sperm swim strait. both will swim the same speed an other sway factors (like pH) help or hurt the process
